Venus flytraps are native to North America where they grow in poor soil in boggy areas. In the summer months, their leaf stalks grow longer so they can absorb maximum light in the dense vegetation which is their natural habitat. There are numerous varieties of Venus flytrap. Dionaea muscipula ‘Werewulf Ara’ is an exceptional cultivar – a variety produced in cultivation by selective breeding.
