Philodendron x ‘golden saw’ is a hybridized aroid which originates from several species within the genus Philodendron. This plant is a climbing plant at an older age. From its rhizome, it grows several leaves and aerial roots. When the leaves develop, they turn from a bright orange to yellow to a brilliant green when mature. With those colors it certainly stands out between the greens of other plants. The leaves of this plant grow to approximately 60 cm in length and show a sharp, undulating leaf margin. This is often compared to a Japanese saw, hence the name of this hybrid. Philodendron x ‘golden saw’ rarely flowers but could produce an insipid aroid like inflorescence, similar to other species within the genus Philodendron. Rhizome cuttings are the most optimal way of propagation, which could be rooted in airy moist soil or water.
