Restrepia trichoglossa can be found in Panama, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. With its 15 centimetre, it’s quite a small orchid. The egg shaped leaves are quite fleshy and each grow from a bulb. The flowers are around 3 centimetre and are very elongated. The lower flower petal is enlarged and has yellow and purple stripes. The lip of Restrepia trichoglossa has a similar pattern, but is smaller. The two flower petals on the side are stringy and are shaped like a cotton bud. The flowers each grow from one flower stem. This is a very special flower!
