Promenaea silvana is a medium sized sympodial orchid. The rounded to ovoid pseudobulbs grow relatively close to each other. Each pseudobulb carries two sharp lanceolate, bright green leaves. This species could produce flowers from the end of spring to the beginning of summer. The single flowered inflorescences arise from the base of the pseudobulb. The flowers reach a maximum size of around 4 centimeters and are bright yellow. The labellum is yellow with horizontally striped, orange markings that show variable patterns. In some variants, the labellum is only yellow. Propagation is done by division. Make sure that every division contains at least three pseudobulbs.
