Pleurothallis tribuloides is a small to miniature orchid species. The sympodial growing orchid produces a couple of centimeters tall gradually narrowing spoon-shaped singular leaves. Specimen type orchids could grow out to large clumps. This orchid flowers at the end of summer and autumn. Appearing from the base of the plant, red tubular petals form a cage like structure that probably assist in pollination in nature. Propagation is most often done by dividing clumps.
