Pleurothallis orbicularis is found in the wild in Bolivia, Peru, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Colombia, Nicaragua and Panama at altitudes between 180 and 1.500 meters. This tiny plant grows upon trees. The leaves have found some sort of collaboration with the flowers. They grow from the same stem and serve as a sort of background for the flowers. One side of the leaves has the same purple colour as the flowers, while the other side is green. The flowers have elongated petals and don’t get any bigger than 2,5 centimetre. Pleurothallis orbicularis blossoms during winter.
