Pleurothallis lateritia is a botanical, miniature orchid from tropical regions. This plant does not form pseudobulbs but forms clumps of dark green leaves. The somewhat leathery leaves grow wider to the top and reach a maximum length of a couple of centimeters. This species usually flowers from autumn to winter. The flowers arise on a slender petiole up in groups of three or sometimes more. While the size of the elegant flowers reaches only half a centimeter in length, it makes it up in color. The bright orange to red contrasts sharply with the dark green leaves. This flower is generally propagated by division of mature plants. Make sure that every division has a healthy root system.
