Orchid ‘Pleurothallis Costaricense ‘Big’’

Not the lip, but the flower petals give Pleurothallis costaricense its beautiful and unique appearance. These have a curved shape and are positioned across from one another, like the shell of a pistachio. They are yellow with purple veins or shading towards the middle of the flower. A plant can grow multiple flower stalks, each carrying multiple flowers. The leaves of Pleurothallis costaricense are slightly spoon shaped and usually have a length of around 5 centimetre. This orchid is naturally found in Panama and Costa Rica at altitudes between 650 and 1.800 meters.
