A hybridization of Dendrobium nobile can be recognized by the thickened stem at the base of the plant. These round ‘reservoirs’ serve as storage for nutrition and water. The flowers of Dendrobium nobile grow in clusters of two or three flowers on the older, leafless thicker stalk parts.
