The stems of Homalocladium the Ribbon bush or tapeworm plant have widened and taken over the function of the leaf. Leaves are rare and unremarkable. The flowers are not spectacular either, but the fact that they appear on the sides of the “leaf”, the widened branches, is special and a bit bizarre. The plant is green all year round; the young shoots that are easily formed are bright green.
