The base of Gerrardanthus macrorhizus can reach the size of a car tire. You wouldn’t guess it, but it is actually related to the cucumber family. This is why the leaves have a triangular shape. The flowers of Gerrardanthus macrorhizus aren’t very striking with their greenish brown colour, but the seeds are. It’s a fast vine forming plant which will also survive outside if it doesn’t freeze too intensely.
