Utricularia minor is widespread. This carnivore is found in North America, Asia, a small part of Africa and almost all of Europe. The leaves of the plant grow underwater and carry various bladders. This is where small insects get sucked in to be digested. From flower stems of around 10 centimetre yellow orchid-like flowers grow. These protrude from the water prominently and each carry one or two flowers.
